- romaine lettuce - garlic, ginger - oyster sauce, soy sauce - chili bean paste (optional)
1. Blanch romaine briefly in a large pot of boiling water.
2. Immediately transfer the lettuce to a bowl of iced water to stop the cooking process.
3. Sauté aromatics over medium heat until fragrant.
4. Add chili bean paste (if using) and cook until fragrant. Then add seasonings and water. Let the sauce come to a simmer.
